Uses up to 256 characters on each side and a short selection in supported fields. It stays in memory and is never sent to a model. Secure fields, terminal buffers, and recognized financial sites are excluded. Browser context is limited to multiline fields; unsupported fields keep ordinary formatting.
Use a different style for a particular app or website. For coding assistants in terminals, choose Agent prompt; for shell commands, choose Literal terminal / code.
Applies when you paste recent or recovered text. Routine dictation keeps your final words on the clipboard. A longer wait helps apps that read pasted text slowly. It also delays the next dictation. Anything you copy after a paste takes priority.
Paste Last works in your destination app. Open Recent Dictations there to keep that destination for reviewed text.
Names and terms you use often. Each saved phrase is an explicit spelling rule; words are never learned silently.
Say “insert snippet” followed by its name as a separate utterance. Text stays literal, including line breaks.
Your laptop lid is closed. Choose an external microphone.
Copy works anywhere. To paste, open Recent Dictations with its shortcut from your destination app.
