Caveat on rank #1. I observed the failure (3 tasks, 0 bytes, no process) but did not confirm the cause. Three hypotheses are listed on the card, each with the command that would settle it. Nothing should be fixed before one is confirmed. Filed as #3263 with that caveat stated in the issue body.
